My Life with Essential Oils

Essential Oils have made such a big difference in my life!
A big "THANK YOU" goes out to my sister for introducing me to essential oils.  (to be referred to as "EO's in the rest of my post).   They have made such a difference in my life!

Since incorporating EO's and blends along with my healthy eating, I have not had to take ANY over the counter medications.  I incorporate them in my workouts, my homemade body products, homemade toothpaste and just to overall feel good about myself.  There are so many recipes that I use EO's for that there is no way I could cover them ALL in this post.  But I will, over the course of time share with you some of my recipes and tips on how I use EO's that benefit my life.

It is important to find a good company that offers Certified Therapeutic Grade oils to make sure you are getting the most out of the oils.  I currently use two different companies that offers great EO's and EO Blends.  Do your Homework and research.  Look at testimonials and referrals.

By listing and linking to the companies and blog sites below, I am not receiving any kind of incentives.   They are just companies and blog sites that I have used because they offer Essential Oils and Blends and recipes that fit my needs and likes .  No company or blog site has asked me to endorse their products or site through my blog, I have chosen to do this on my own.

The first one is
Spark Natural has some great EO's and EO Blends. I have used their oils for a couple of months now and have been very happy with their products and their customer service.
One of my favorites is a Blend that was created by another blogger,
Jeddy's Blend was created by Dori for her son that has ADHD.  A very touching story that you can read here.
This blend has so many uses.  You may think it is a little expensive, but trust me, it is worth every penny!  It has so many healing oils in it blended to perfection.  If you think about it, if you bought all the oils and tried to figure out the blending yourself, it would cost a lot more.  This is a very powerful oil that can be cut with Fractionated Coconut oil and still have wonderful effects!
I use this blend for headaches and when I need a little bit of calming.

Another one of my favorite blends from Spark Naturals is Zen!
I have a bit of high blood pressure and Zen helps me put this under control.  It has a calming effect and just smells so good overall!
If you mix the Jeddy's Blend and the Zen, you have a GREAT Anxiety blend.  I have seen this in action and I have experienced it for myself.  Mix these with a little coconut oil and you have a great massage blend.

The other company that I have recently experienced and LOVE is...
They have a WIDE range of quality EOs and EO Blends.
Most of their oils offers a selection based on distillation processes and location from where the oils originate from.  The descriptions of each oil goes into much detail, including the Suggested Uses, Possible Actions, Possible Indications, Cautions, Blends, and Recipes.
I have been very pleased with each oil I have ordered from Ananda and look forward to ordering and sampling more soon!

Now, that you have a couple of resources for Essential Oils and Blends, what do you do with them???
Well, my Sister also turned me on to some fabulous Blog Sites that have great recipes that I have tried and have worked very well for me!  Here is a list of some of my "go to" websites when I have an ailment or problem that I want to take care of.

Both of these Essential Oil providers have great customer service, fast shipping and great prices.  Again, these are my preferences.

I am going to leave you today with one of my favorite recipes that I have adapted from Camp Wander.  I tried her original recipe then added a few oils.  It was originally posted as a Rosacea Blend that I have had most of my life and this has helped a lot, but I added a few more ingredients that has left my face soft and the wrinkles are actually fading!  I love the way my face feels with this wonderful blend.

Face Time Blend

Ingredients:

10 drops of Helichrysum  (Helichrysum italicum - Everlasting, Immortelle) is known for its regenerating properties.  It has been studied in Europe for regeneration of nerves, improving skin conditions, reducing inflammation, relieving pain, and speeding healing.

10 drops of Frankincense is a great oil for taking care of mature skin. This oil has been shown to reduce the signs of wrinkles and is also great for the immune system.

5 drops of Cypress- A general detoxifying, decongesting essential oil, with wide-ranging actions Cypress supports the circulatory system, the nervous system and the inner ecology. It is anti-infectious, anti-bacterial, and antimicrobial. Cypress may also be useful for lymphatic congestion, rheumatic pain, asthma, strengthening the circulatory system, reducing cellulite, improving energy, reducing nervous tension, and decreasing benign cysts. In addition, Cypress is thought to lessen scar tissue including acne scars and is a wonderful addition to skin care products.

5 drops of Rose Absolute- Rose makes a great skin oil for all skin types, and especially for dry, sensitive, or aging skin.  Plus the aroma of Rose is balancing and relaxing.

2 drops of Rosemary- included in many face and skin care blends for its enhancement of the skin's metobolic processes.

Blend all of these in a small blending bottle.  Then in a 10oz roller bottle add 10-15 drops of your blend and fill the rest with carrier oil of your choice.  I am partial to Grapeseed oil for my face because it is a lighter oil that does not clog my pores.  I little of this goes a long way.  I put this on every morning and every night.  I love how this feels and smells!

More recipes to come!  Please stay tuned to this blog site!

Have a happy and healthy day!

  1. Hi. Congratulations on your blog! I'm new to EO's. Only a couple months of experience. Would you please tell me where you get your Rose (Absolute) EO? I've checked doTerra and Spark Naturals and neither offer it. With so much emphasis put on knowing that the EO's we use are safe and from quality sources I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! Lorri
