LIVING HEALTHY AND LOVING LIFE!

I HAVE DONE IT!

If you read my first post to this blog, you know that I started a journey to a healthier and happier life in February.  I was and still am determined!
Here in Colorado we have a program called "Weigh and Win".  It was free to sign up and they actually pay you to lose weight and keep it off.  I thought, "why not".  So I added this as part of my journey.  They do give tips, but I had already had my food and exercise plan mapped out due to the book I read, "Ultra Metabolism" by Dr. Mark Hyman.  But I wanted a way to track my progress in my weight loss.
I started at 204 and would go in and weigh in and track my progress.
Well as of today 8/17/2013, I have hit my goal of 150lbs!
This is a huge accomplishment for me!
Changing my eating habits was a huge part of it, plus adding regular exercise.
This has shown me that what you put into your body has a huge affect on your health.
Fast Food, processed sugar, unhealthy fats, all had a part in my obesity.  Once I cut them out, I started feeling better, had so much more energy, and was losing the fat and inflammation.

It takes a lot of dedication and commitment to make the changes that I did.  Determination was the key.  The determination to get my life back instead of dying a slow death.  Who knows, the way that I was going, it could have been sooner than later.

My whole life, I went back and forth with the "diets" I was trying.  It was time to
 change my lifestyle!

Just a tip, Fad Diets and cleanses may work initially, but you cannot expect to be able to go back to old habits and eat junk, and expect to keep the weight off, you have to make a lifestyle change in your eating habits and get regular exercise.  Even if it just walking for 20 minutes a day or even every other day, it is better than no exercise at all!

Do I get tempted?

I am not going to lie, once in a while I see a television commercial for a chili cheese dog and wish I could have that, but then I think about the inflammation and the stomach ache that would occur afterwards and it just isn't worth it to me.  Especially now, I have come to far to look back.
I am not going to lie, life is not perfect.  I am only human, but..

I am proud to say that I am living a healthier life and I am
loving life!

Don't you think it is time to take care of YOU
If I can do it, I know you can!
The food that I eat tastes good and there are alternatives to the unhealthy foods.

Have a Happy and Healthy Day!

  2. Thank you Amy! I am still not done yet. There are a few target areas I am working on now. I have never had hips before, so that really looks strange to me. But I am excited to have lost this and met my goal.
